HENRITTA “HANK” ANN BERG, age 60, of Hill City, MN, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at her home. Henritta Berg was born in 1957 to Harold and Joyce Joerger in Wessington Springs, SD. She attended grade school in South Dakota until age 8, when her family moved to Minnesota, and later graduated from Aitkin High School.
Henritta was united in marriage to James Berg on October 15, 1977 in Aitkin, MN and in 1981, they moved to Hill City, MN. Over the years, Henritta had many different jobs: she worked at the turkey plant in Aitkin, was a nurse’s aide, bartender/waitress, was a laborer at a plastic molding plant and a wooden pallet factory, had a cleaning business and a daycare business and was a grocery store clerk.
Henritta was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, MN, Minnesota Nice and was the president of the Hill City Chamber of Commerce.
Henritta loved spending time with her grand kids, daycare kids and families, reading, gardening, camping, traveling, feeding the birds, bingo, fishing, going to garage sales, cooking and baking and especially, going shopping with her girls.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Joyce; and sister-in-law, Debbie Joerger.
Henritta is survived by her husband of 40 years, James; two daughters, Sandra (Cory) Hensel of Aitkin, MN and Tina (Jed) Harcey of Hill City, MN; father, Harold Joerger of Palisade, MN; four sisters, Mary (Greg) Handt of Aitkin, MN, Rosann (John) Bray of Hill City, MN, Brenda Joerger of Palm Harbor, FL and Suzann Joerger of Wadena, MN; four brothers, John Joerger of Palisade, MN, James Joerger of Mountain View, MO, Joseph Joerger of Palisade, MN and Joshua (Becky) Joerger of Palisade, MN; grandchildren, Isabel, Faith, and Isaac Hensel and Tanner, Brooklyn and Piper Harcey; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, October 6th from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, MN. Fr. Jerry Weiss will officiate. Burial will be in Macville Cemetery, Macville Township, MN. Send funeral flowers CLICK HERE
